Detroit post-punk band Protomartyr make their Domino debut with a new full-length album, Relatives In Descent!
It's a record for the times: a headlong dive into the morass of life in America in 2017, with all the dread, fear, and tumult that entails. There's glory in the darkness though – this collection of 12 urgent, spitfire songs is Protomartyr at their most powerful, screaming loudly for the things they care about: truth, family, and home.
Relatives In Descent was recorded at 64 Sound in Los Angeles, and was co-produced by the band and Sonny DiPerri (Animal Collective, Deradoorian, Dirty Projectors), with mixing by DiPerri.
Protomartyr is Joe Casey (vocals), Greg Ahee (guitars), Alex Leonard (drums), and Scott Davidson (bass guitar). Their discography includes The Agent Intellect (2015, Hardly Art), Under Color of Official Right (2014, Hardly Art), and No Passion All Technique (2012, Urinal Cake Records).
